Houston Singer/Songwriter Connie Mims-Pinkerton Makes a Stand Against Breast Cancer - March 17, 2008

Can I walk 39.3 miles on April 12th and 13th?
Piece 'a cake.

That's nothing compared to what breast cancer survivors have endured.

I sincerely appreciate all those who have pledged to my initial goal of raising $1,800 for the AVON Walk For Breast Cancer Research, and to those who helped me go over that goal to beyond my expectations! I am truly grateful!
I'm walking on behalf of my paternal grandmother, Mary Irwin Mims, plus other cousins that have survived the disease. I'm also walking for a fellow songwriter whom I've never met: Lorna Flowers. I hope whatever contribution I make goes to her recovery so she can continue to make her beautiful music. My cousins have continued to make their music. My grandmother did not get to finish her song.
I know that Lorna is going to write the song of her life!
Thanks so much for your support. If you could, please pass along to those who may not know about the AVON Walk, and what we're trying to do. It means so much to so many, and for that, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

In love and hope,
Connie Mims-Pinkerton

WHEATFIELD (Ezra Idlet, Keith Grimwood, Craig Calvert and I) will be part of the lineup closing out Kerrville's 2008 season. We'll be part of the bill featuring Anais Mitchell, Bobby Bridger and Randy Rodgers that evening on the Kennedy Outdoor Theater Stage, beginning at 7:00pm.
If you've never experienced the festival, it is truly a Texas Music historical experience.
